How You Can Support Us
Help WINGS Provide Safe Transportation for Children To and From School
WINGS’ Corporate Gift program challenges corporations to work with us to ensure that all children have decent, affordable transportation to and from school in all types of weather. Many children in our communities are totally without transportation to and from school for many reasons:
- They fall outside the guidelines for school bus transport. They are less than 10 miles from school which means they will have to walk 1 to 9 miles in all types of weather, including rain and snow.
- The Pace bus routes aren’t set up to take children to and from school and would be difficult for younger children to use. Children as young as 5 years old need rides to and from school.
- Most households have two working parents or a single working parent. It is difficult for them to adjust their work schedule to allow for school drop off and pick up.
- Parents in many cases don't drive.
Together we can offer an affordable and safe solution. I have spoken with many families in our communities regarding this problem; I am convinced they will participate in our program. With your help we can provide safe and affordable transportation in the form of small buses or 8 passenger vehicles to transport the children to and from school. In addition, we will provide new job opportunities by hiring qualified drivers.
Corporate partnerships address the transportation problem, through gifts that will get the children off the streets, out of the elements, and safely to their schools. You will feel good knowing the investment you've made will make a difference in children's lives, while offering high-impact public relations to your corporation. Together we will provide a permanent positive effect on the families in our communities. WINGS will not make a profit from this service. We wish, as you do, to get the children out of the elements especially with winter fast approaching and into safe affordable transportation to and from school.
WINGS invites you to join us as we work in partnership to ensure that all children in our communities have access to decent, safe, affordable transportation to and from school.
We gladly accept:
- New or gently used small 22 passenger School Bus, 8 passengers SUV, or Minivan
- New booster seats
- Cash donations

WINGS-Care Showers for Moms and Babies
This is a program designed to assist struggling moms by supplying them with some very basic necessities such as diapers, wipes and toiletries.
Through WINGS-Care we help relieve some of the everyday stress by giving these moms baby showers. They are held in my own home and they are just as one might hold a shower for a mother-to-be who is not a WINGS-Care recipient. We hold the showers once a month and we invite 5-6 recipients at a time to participate. Many of these moms have never had a baby shower, are single moms, many are teens, and all are short on resources.
The donated items are decoratively wrapped and are given to mothers who attend our showers. It is a wonderful way to provide moms with some necessary items for herself and her baby!
Here are a few donation suggestions for WINGS-Care Showers:
- Up-to-date informative literature for mom regarding moms and baby’s health and other relevant topics
- Gift cards: Grocers or department store (any amount is accepted)
- Baby items: Disposable diapers (size 0-6), baby soap, baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby oil, diaper ointment, Vaseline, wipes, bottles, new clothing, socks, wash cloths, blankets, outlet plugs, sippy cups, pacifiers, teething rings, thermometers, baby books, and baby DVDs
- Toiletries for mom such as: shower gel, lotion, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste
- Cash is always welcome
- Gift wrap, gift bags, tissue paper, and ribbons or bows
